Creative.nyc exists to cultivate a community of redemptive artists in New York City. We desire the fame and deeds of God to be seen and known through the arts.
New York serves as a home for artists across mediums and styles, and Church of the City hopes to reflect that deep well of creativity in our city. Whether you consider yourself an artist, want to explore new avenues of creativity, or have an appreciation for the arts, we want to invite you to join us at creative.nyc
CREATIVE CONFERENCE 2025
Dates: Friday, October 10 @ 6:30pm- 9:30pm, Saturday, October 11 @ 9am-9:30pm
Location: 417 W 57th St, New York, NY 10019
We are hungry to see a historic move of God in our day, and we long to see the manifest presence of God break into our cities through the arts. We believe we are not the light itself, but witnesses of the true Light. We are the peacemakers, the light bearers, the undignified celebrants. We gather to build a framework of being mission in our respective industries to lift eyes to Jesus by the work of our hands. The conference will feature keynote speakers, a professional maker's panel, and space for prayer and worship. We are so glad you are joining us at Creative Conference 2025!

COMMISSIONS
“TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH” COMMISSIONS
The “To the Ends of the Earth” debuted a multi-disciplinary group exhibition of eight new, commissioned works from artists within Church of the City.
The presentation and distribution of this work is meant to be a gift, invitation, and impetus for wonder and contemplation for the city of New York. The work draws from the concepts and ideas found in the book of Acts, but lean into the 'faithful improvisation' of the moment we live in, or, 'the fifth act'.
This collection of work was on display in a gallery experience from September 4-16. You can learn more about their journey from beginning to end below.
COME & SEE COMMISSIONS
As part of the Living the Liturgy giving campaign, Church of the City has committed to commissioning artists to create new work to lift eyes to the maker of heaven and earth. This Summer, ten artists were selected for the "Come & See Commission". Each artist created around the 'I Am' Statements of Jesus, and throughout the Summer, they participated in a cohort to discuss the book of John, pray, and share their artistic process with one another.
This collection of work was on display in a gallery experience from September 6-16. You can learn more about their journey from beginning to end through our first mini documentary here.
Create
No matter the medium, we welcome you to create. Creative.nyc hosts monthly meetings, that can look very different.
Salons: Cultivated spaces for artists to create around a specific theme, share work with the community, and engage in thoughtful conversation.
Sessions: Spaces for artists in our community to teach on a specific medium and invite others into engaging with it through practical application.
Taste & See Experiences: Evenings focused on communion between artists over a meal and commissioned performances from members of our community.
