Love in action

At Church of the City, we believe that for the flourishing of our community and our city, we must put the love of God into action in our daily lives. Romans 12 calls us to be devoted to one another in Christ-like love. For us, this means caring sincerely for the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of our community. Below are some ways to both give and receive care within our community.

We have trained staff and volunteers who will skillfully walk you through challenging stages in life, including personal crises, medical emergencies, life transitions, and more. We believe that God has called us into mission of supporting the church, by assisting the work of the Holy Spirit through encouragement and comfort. We want to help you STAND while life battles against you, we want to ENCOURAGE when you feel like there is no hope, we want to help TURN your eyes back to Jesus.  (Ephesians 6:13 Hebrews 12:1-3 1 Thessalonians 5:11)

If you are experiencing extreme financial need please apply for possible assistance through the Benevolence Fund by filling out the Care Form above.

  • When faced with a personal conflict, relationship or family troubles, or a mental health condition, many people turn to a therapist for help. Finding the right therapist can often be a lengthy and challenging process. We have compiled a list of Christian mental health counselors in the NYC area which we are happy to share with you. Please look here for a list of these counselors. If you need any assistance navigating this list please reach out to care@church.nyc.
