Sermon Guide
Come to Me | Who is Jesus?
Sermon Recap
This Sunday, Pastor Jon kicked off our new series focused on the “I Am” statements in the Gospel of John, with the goal of equipping us to confidently talk about Jesus and carry the gospel into the world.
Pastor Jon framed the sermon around three key words that help us make sense of history, and, in turn, our own lives: Messiah, Church, and Kingdom. Jesus is the Messiah, the relationship we were made for. In the midst of our shame, weariness, and brokenness, He invites us to find true rest in Him, because He is what we ache for and who we were created for.
Jesus also forms the Church, a counter-cultural community that embodies humility, gentleness, and love, and breaks down societal barriers in order to usher in unpredecented equality. Though messy at times, the church is a community of hope that shapes us with truth, wisdom, and eternal perspective.
Jesus invites us into the Kingdom, a cause worth giving our lives to. The Kingdom is God’s vision of the world made right, restoring what is broken and giving dignity to the overlooked.
We need the love of the Messiah, the belonging of the Church, and the hope of the Kingdom. Like the woman at the well, our response is to invite others: “Come and see.” Over the next eight weeks, this series will equip us to share this hope with the people around us and our city."

3) Of the three words (Messiah, Church, Kingdom) which one resonates most with you right now, and why? Which one challenges you most?
4) The woman at the well simply said "Come and see." How might this simple invitation shape the way you share Jesus with others, rather than feeling pressure to have all the answers?

Pray for the Lord’s gentle and humble spirit to feel tangible and like real reality in our lives.
Pray that the Spirit would equip us to know how to talk about Jesus, and that we would have opportunities to do so.
