HELLS KITCHEN VOL 1

All throughout the week,  hundreds of people come to this prayer room—to seek God and contend for His kingdom to come here in New York City.

This room is planted in a neighborhood called Hell’s Kitchen—It got that name because of its reputation for being a dangerous place full of darkness, violence, and poverty.

Even its name tells a story.

But we believe God is speaking a better story.

Something we say often here is that we want our prayers to flow from the riches of God’s Word—not the poverty of our circumstances.

And we want the same to be true of the songs we write and sing.

We believe worship is simply prayer set to melody.

So it mattered to us that these songs wouldn’t just be written about God—but with Him.

That they would come from the secret place, formed by His presence, in the place of prayer—that the writing room and the prayer room would be one and the same.

In many ways, our hope is that the songs on this album would serve as a prophetic sign: that the light of Christ shines in the darkness, and the darkness will not overcome it.

We want to see Heaven come… in Hell’s Kitchen.
