YOUTH OF THE CITY
Youth of the City is a family of young people joining a move of God in New York City. We exist to empower the next generation, to form the next wave of kingdom disciples, and to prepare for the next great move of God in our time.
Isaiah 43:19 ESV
“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
YTH.NYC is not simply a youth group. We are a defiant people, marked by deep hope in the potential of the next generation in the Kingdom of God.
Where statistics may indicate regression and despair, we choose daily to opt in for a different narrative - acknowledging that we serve a God that will bring about the restoration of ALL things. And that these very people, The Youth, The ‘next’, are empowered to participate in that renewal here and now.

YTH.NYC values the empowerment of High School and JR High students in every aspect of our ecosystem. Rather than create something “FOR'' young people, we create “WITH” young people. We believe in channeling the creative power and redemptive potential of young people directly into the life of the local church and work of restorative justice in our city.

YTH.NYC values deep spiritual formation in the lives of every student. Our leader team is built of Compelling Missional Disciples, who are committed to disciple every student in the way of Jesus “not simply with words, but with [their] very lives as well.” (1 Thes 2:8) We believe that resilient disciples can be formed in the face of the secularism of our city. Potent Young Disciples rising from this environment will stun the western world.

YTH.NYC values prayer, intercession, and dependence on the Holy Spirit. We believe that the same God who unleashed renewal across the church in New York’s History is the same God we serve today. Scripture and Church History are too full of revivals that begin with young people for us to ignore this pattern. We are preparing our young people with a burning heart for prayer that seeks God for city wide awakening and the reversal of generational decline in the church.

We gather weekly and seasonally to seek Him. We aim to be more focused on what God is doing among us, than what we could do on our own.

Our Small Groups are Spirit led, and exist to facilitate student formation. Our YTH Leadership Team opens up their worlds to model and encourage spiritual disciplines and walk through life with our students.

Jesus came to seek and save the lost. YTH.NYC pursues renewal through both evangelism and works of justice + mercy.
Alpha Youth is our engine of evangelism, creating spaces to introduce students to Jesus.
City Renewal is our church’s missional expression in the city, and our young people are welcomed in to serve and love the marginalized in our city.
