DISCIPLESHIP PATHWAY
The Discipleship Pathway is a way of seeing yourself within the life of our church and recognizing your next faithful step as you become a compelling missional disciple in New York City.

SCRIPTURE
Scripture tells one unified story, all of it leading to Jesus. A compelling missional disciple saturates their life in it, formed by revelation and sound doctrine rather than routine religion. This is what we call “Radical Daily Pursuit.” We don't want to just hear the Word, we want to close the gap between what we read about in Scripture, and what we experience in our daily lives.
PRAYER
We are a praying church. It is the engine behind everything else we do. One of the distinctives of a compelling missional disciple is a desire for Revival and Awakening, marked in us through Contending Prayer. We resist complacency and little faith in favor of a hungry, expectant prayer life.
COMMUNITAS
Community in New York is costly—long train rides across the city, tight squeezes into studio apartments, evenings you didn't have to spare. We call the friendship that survives that cost “Communitas,” not a religious club built around personal preference, but shared-mission friendships forged by shared calling and risk. We live this out through our Community Groups and CORE Groups, spaces where we pursue Jesus together and tell each other the truth about what's going on in our lives.
SACRIFICIAL MISSION
Jesus' first inclination was always toward the lost, the marginalized, and the poor, and we follow that same instinct, sacrificially, in both directions at once: serving both the church and the city. We call this “Blessing Beyond Barriers at The Redemptive Edge,” the pattern of Jesus' own ministry lived out in ours.
VOCATIONAL MISSION
A compelling missional disciple treats their work as an integrated expression of faith, not a separate compartment from it, pursuing excellence without selfish ambition, anchored in prayer for the people and work in front of us. We live this out through the practice of Workplace Prayer and other vocational expressions.
THEOLOGICAL INTEGRATION
Our hope is to form disciples who are rooted in Christ, trained in Scripture, and ready to meet the complexity of this city with wisdom and conviction. We place a high value on knowing God rightly, because right belief is what makes a renewed life possible. As Paul writes, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2). New York will hand you a dozen competing stories about who you are and what your life is for. Theological Integration is how a disciple learns to test those stories against something true, and it's why the deepest structural training in this church exists.
MULTIPLICATION
The vision of our church is for everyone to be sharing the Gospel, seeing people come to Christ, and discipling them into the Kingdom, the same pattern Paul gave Timothy: what you've heard, entrust to faithful people who will teach it to others also (2 Timothy 2:2). We measure growth by one question: are you making a disciple? If every disciple here made one disciple a year, and those disciples did the same, this city would look different within a generation. This is what it means to see lost New Yorkers far from God transformed into compelling missional disciples: not through a program, but through YOU.
